Voltage regulators provide clean regulated voltages to various loads such as micro-processors, micro-controllers, memory chips, low voltage logic circuits and drivers while offering protection and filtering from electrical transients and noise. International Rectifier offers two types of regulators:
- Low dropout voltage (LDO) linear regulator
- PWM controller IC or Switching regulator
The LDOs are suitable for cost sensitive applications where a low voltage dropout and low output current is required. On the other hand, the PWM control ICs or the switching regulators offer a high voltage drop, high efficiency and a higher current solution required for certain applications. |
